DCYR Members Make Strong Showing On DC GOP “35 Under 35 List”

On Thursday, the District of Columbia Republican Committee (DC GOP) announced its first annual “35 Under 35 List”, self-described as “Honoring DC’s 35 Most Influential Republicans Under 35”. Honorees included eight Members of the DC Young Republicans (DCYR), specifically, Former DCYR Chairman, Rich Counts; current DCYR Vice Chair of Communications, James Christophersen; and DCYR Members Rachel Hoff, Whitney Hurt, Alex Schriver, Derek Khanna, Francesca Chambers, and Shoshana Weissmann.
The DC GOP’s 35 Under 35 Program was originally established last year by two Young Republicans, Jill Homan and Tom Weirich.
“The DC GOP is proud to unveil the list of the 35 most influential young Republicans under 35 who demonstrate a strong commitment to the goals of our urban party and dedication to conservative principles which will help guide the next generation of leaders in our nation’s capital,” stated Republican National Committeewoman for DC – Elect Jill Homan and Tom Weirich, Founding Chairs of the 35 Under 35 Program.
Christophersen, DCYR Vice-Chair of Communications, stated: “The DC Young Republicans have long emphasized our organization as striving to produce ‘Leaders of Today, Not Just Leaders of Tomorrow.’ The honors bestowed on eight of our current members named to the DC GOP’s inaugural ‘35 Under 35 List’ underscores our successes in that mission and will serve as an inspiration to all DCYR members. I consider it a distinct honor to be included among so many notable leaders and close friends.”
