DCYR’s are proud to partner with Valor Flight, the same fine folks who started the WWII veteran-focused Honor Flight. Valor Flight will bring Korean War veterans to DC on Saturday, November 12th to visit their Memorial and other area monuments, and they need volunteer ‘guardians’ to escort for the day. This is your chance to honor these veterans and be a part of an unforgettable experience!
A rough schedule of the day 10:30am – 5:00pm:
Volunteer Guardians will meet the veterans at Reagan National Airport when their flight arrives Saturday, November 12th at 10:50 am. From there, we will board buses to visit the Korean War Memorial and World War II Memorial. We will then travel to the Women’s Memorial in Arlington to have lunch, before viewing the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The day will end back at Reagan National Airport where we say goodbye to the veterans.
