The Executive Board of the DC Young Republicans voted to nominate important DC Republican Leaders to our Honorary Advisory Board. The Board consists of key DC GOP Leaders who are willing to mentor the executive leadership of the DCYRs.
In addition, each H.A.B. board member spends one evening each year dining with the Executive Board to offer industry leading advice. Each board member supports the group through a donation of $250-$1,000 that will be used for DCYR programming. We cannot be more grateful to the 2011 Inaugural Honorary Advisory Board Members.

Ken KiesKenneth J. (Ken) Kies is Managing Director of the Federal Policy Group, a division of Clark & Wamberg LLC. The Federal Policy Group provides sophisticated strategic and technical tax advice on tax policy matters before the Congress, the U.S. Treasury Department, the Internal Revenue Service, and the OECD.
Mr. Kies has delivered significant legislative and regulatory results for his clients, which include major corporations, trade associations, and coalitions of companies with common objectives. Mr. Kies has led coalition efforts to enact legislation responding to the World Trade Organization’s ruling against U.S. foreign sales corporation benefits, to avert enactment of broad “corporate tax shelter” legislation that would have an adverse impact on legitimate business transactions, and to reverse Treasury regulations targeting “hybrid” arrangements of U.S. multinational corporations, among other projects.
Mr. Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a taxpayer advocacy group he founded in 1985 at President Reagan’s request. ATR is a coalition of taxpayer groups, individuals and businesses opposed to higher taxes at the federal, state and local levels. ATR organizes the TAXPAYER PROTECTION PLEDGE,which asks all candidates for federal and state office to commit themselves in writing to oppose all tax increases. In the 112th Congress, 238 House members and 41 Senators have taken the pledge. On the state level, 13 governors and 1249 state legislators have taken the pledge.
Beginning her career with the California Republican Party, during the Reagan campaign, and active in the Miss America Scholarship Fund, Teri Galvez became a prominent figure in the field of International Business and Pageantry. Teri is the Founder and President of Paradigm Event Management and Marketing, Special Events, and Conference Planning Company whose clients include Fortune 500 Companies, Non-profits, and National Associations. Along with developing colonial-style vacation homes in Mexico, Teri worked at numerous luxury hotels including the “infamous” Watergate Hotel. With this job, she has been given the opportunity to work with many celebrities.
Leslie Rutledge serves as Associate Counsel for the Republican National Committee, where her portfolio includes the presidential nominating process and delegate selection, federal and state election law, redistricting, insurance, defamation, and employment issues. Before joining the RNC, Ms. Rutledge was In-House Counsel to a 501(c)(4) national redistricting organization. During the 2008 cycle, Ms. Rutledge served as Deputy Counsel at the National Republican Congressional Committee, where she specialized in campaign finance and ethics.
Lisa Spies is a Political fundraiser with over ten years of experience raising National and PAC contributions. Currently, Lisa is the PAC Finance Director and Director of Jewish Outreachfor Romney for President, Inc. and the D.C. Finance Director for Senator David Vitter. Lisa is also the Executive Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition’s National Women’s Committee, the national organization of Jewish Republican women. During the 2010 election cycle, she served as the D.C. Finance Director for Senator John Thune and Senator David Vitter, and the National Finance Coordinator for Congressman Mike Pence. Lisa also raised money for Senator Thune’s Heartland Values PAC, Senator Vitter’s Louisiana Reform PAC and Congressman Pence’s Win Back America PAC. Described as a “Super-Fundraiser” by Capitol File Magazine in 2006, Lisa directs multi-million dollar national fundraising efforts including high-dollar donor events, PAC events and direct mail and internet programs, as well as conferences of all sizes.
